Diego Maradona Signed Barcelona Certificate Of Registration (JSA)
Diego Maradona's transfer from Boca Juniors to FC Barcelona changed the course of soccer history, with the legendary Argentine joining the Blaugrana for a world-record $7.6 million transfer fee before the 1982-83 season. In his first season of European soccer, Maradona led Barcelona to the 1983 Copa Del Rey title and a historic El Clasico victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid that saw Maradona applauded by Los Merengues supporters in a historic first. While Maradona's Barcelona career lasted only two seasons, the diminutive playmaker made his mark with 38 goals in 58 games for the Catalan outfit. Offered is Maradona's "Certificado De Matricula" document from Argentina's Consulate General in Barcelona dated to July 29, 1983. The historic document features a photograph of Maradona in his red-and-blue Barcelona kit, with his profession listed as "Futbolista." The document also includes Maradona's fingerprint, located on the lower-right corner. Maradona has signed the document on the lower-left corner in black ballpoint pen, adjacent to the counter-signature of Adjunct Consulate General Horacio Solari. The document is in good condition with light toning and wear, and exhibits all appropriate markings and stamps. It comes with an LOA from JSA (XX20844) for the signature. It also comes with a separate Letter of Provenance dated Oct. 21, 2021, signed by Mariano José Quintana, Argentina's current Consulate General in Barcelona, verifying the document's authenticity. This item is also accompanied with an certificate of authenticity from The Fan Cave.
